Avery Rozak is a caring and empathetic counsellor whose approach is centered on connecting with clients' emotional experiences throughout the ebbs and flows of life. She is committed to helping clients acknowledge and break free from unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs, creating an open and safe space to explore where they may feel stuck and generate new possibilities. Avery is dedicated to finding what feels authentic for each client, meeting them exactly where they are.

Avery works with clients to deepen their understanding of themselves and identify what matters most in their life. She specializes in guiding clients through the complexities of medication decisions, helping them understand their experiences and advocate for themselves in the medical process. Avery also has a particular interest in the unique experiences of women, including those who are neurodivergent. 

In addition to her work with adults, Avery brings an invested understanding of child development and enjoys incorporating aspects of play and art into her sessions with children and parents. She believes in a collaborative approach that unites parents and children, fostering a supportive environment that bridges the counselling room and home. This approach ensures that the unique needs of young clients are met, while also strengthening family dynamics.

Avery is a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle in Calgary, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, which she incorporates into her passion for research in psychology. Her diverse background enables her to bring a well-rounded perspective to her practice, combining scientific insight with compassionate care.

With experience working with a wide range of ages, including children, adolescents, and adults, Avery connects with clients through a genuine understanding of life’s continual movement and change. She employs a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, tailoring her methods to best meet the needs of each individual.

Outside of her professional work, Avery has a deep passion for plants and believes in the healing power of a connection to nature. She is an avid traveler and adventure seeker, enjoying activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and gardening, which keep her grounded and inspired.
